Why We Love It
1. Floor Plan. The Hillcrest is one of my favorite floor plans in The Greens. The front living room is large enough for multiple pieces of furniture but the feature wall helps the space maintain a cozy feel. While we're on the topic of that feature wall, you should know it almost got its own column here. I love the symmetry of the the built-in shelving and square windows that flank a central fireplace with the TV mounted above it... it just soothes my inner OCD ;-) . We'll talk more about the bedrooms, 2nd floor laundry, private office, and more later. But first we need to address my favorite feature of the home...
2. The Social Kitchen. Honestly, I think having space in your kitchen for a sofa - to go with seating at the table and island - is brilliant. Not only is it more seating for when your friends gather in kitchen during parties, but it's also a more comfortable arrangement for a companion to keep you company while you cook. And whether it's a sunny morning or a snowy Sunday afternoon, I'd doubt there is a more perfect spot for a cup of coffee. After seeing the granite, hardwood, and stainless steel in here... you're going to want somewhere comfortable to sit to admire it.
3. The Greens. M/I Homes did a great job of creating a neighborhood that seems to have its own energy. The homes sit close to the street creating more of an urban feel that draws your eye up, they replaced most of the typical front lawns with trees and landscaping to add visual interest, and the sidewalks always seem to be busy with neighbors walking their dogs or heading to the community center. That community center is located a short walk away and it includes a fitness facility, swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and more.
What You Need To Know
From the front porch, through the large living room and kitchen, and out onto the private patio... there is always somewhere comfortable to sit in the Pinnacle Greens home.
First Floor: When you first step into the home, the beautiful hardwood floors and living room feature wall will immediately command your attention. The white trim really pops with the dark floors and it also creates a very clean look for the built-ins and fireplace. The room is large enough to be comfortable... yet small enough to be cozy.
Separating the living room from the kitchen is one door to your half bath and one to your private office... or as M/I called it, your Technology Center. I love the size, location, and layout of this office. It's located in the heart of the home for easy access but it can be easily concealed to hide the clutter that typically comes with an office. I also really like that except for one window, you're able to close yourself off from the rest of the home because more often than not, that's exactly what you need to do to get a little work done.
As you read above, I really like this kitchen. Not just because of the smart layout that practically invites a social gathering... but also because the finishes are all top of the line. Hardwood, granite, and stainless steel to go with your beautiful cabinetry. And yes, that is a gas range.
Second Floor: Upstairs is home to your large owner's suite, two guest bedrooms, both full bathrooms, and your laundry closet.
Your personal bedroom features vaulted ceilings, a huge walk-in closet, and a double vanity in your private bathroom. The owners thought the stand alone storage in the bathroom matched the cabinetry so well that they even plan to leave it for you.
The other two bedrooms are located at the front end of the home and both are on the larger side. They share the home's second full bathroom.
I don't know that the hallway up here is actually large enough to be classified as a loft, but as you can see, there is enough room to add a sitting area.
Don't forget that your washer and dryer are conveniently located in the hallway up here.
Exterior: I'm sure you saw the cover sitting area of the front porch, but have you seen the private patio out back?
The backyard is fully enclosed with a privacy fence and features a patio and a small patch of lawn (perfect for those of you with dogs). As you you can see, the patio is large enough for a table, grill, and even a hot tub... which is negotiable.
Your 2 car garage is accessible from the alley with a door leading you into the yard.
Location: For those of you not familiar with the location, Pinnacle Greens is located within close proximity to the community center, Pinnacle Golf Club with the attached Cimi's Bistro, plenty of shopping and dining options in Parkway Centre, and a short 10-15 minute drive to downtown Columbus.
